About 'AirWay'
(the team)

We are 7 accessibility advocates who competed in and won Knowbility's Accessibility Internet Rally (AIR) 2022

Seven individuals set out on an adventure to pursue their passion for making the internet accessible to all. Fate brought them together through the Accessibility Internet Rally (AIR) 2022 Competition, organized by Knowbility. In late 2022, together with their guiding mentor Cindy, the ‘AirWay’ team collaboratively crafted an accessible website for a nonprofit named ‘Work Opportunities’.

Website Results

We were able to take the predominantly text-based Work Opportunities site and change it into a much more inviting experience while ensuring its accessibility through extensive checks and remediation. To learn more about the steps we took to plan, design, put together, and remediate our website, you can read Deneb’s blog post on it.

Competition Results

Delivering an amazing and accessible website to Work Opportunities and its clients was always the most important thing for us, but we did say to each other throughout the competition that we wanted to win it, which we did in fact do, hearing the results an excruciating forty-two days after submitting our site! Now we get to soar high and spread our message of accessibility for all across the skies.
